1.  What activities are planned for the graduates of the YLP (Youth Leadership Program)?

NEW NEW NEW There are no official/sponsored conference activities for the YLP graduates. However, past Wisconsin Youth Leadership attendees and the Milwaukee Brewers have organized a special honor during the Sunday, July 27th game against the Houston Astros. Prior to the start of the game, all Youth Leadership attendees will be recognized on the field. Interested Youth Leadership attendees will have to purchase their own tickets for the game, but transportation to and from the hotel(s) will be provided. In order to purchase tickets for the Brewers game, go to: www.brewers.com. It is suggested to get your tickets early, the Milwaukee Brewers are projected to be a good team this year and attendance for all games, especially weekend games, will be high. Hope to see you at the game!

If you obtain tickets for the game and would like to be a part of the on-field introduction, please email Chief Robert J. Rosch at [email protected] with your interest.

**Sunday afternoon's baseball game is transportation only.  You will be required to obtain your own Miller Park attendance tickets.  One option is to visit www.brewers.com. Departure and drop off will be from the Midwest Airlines Center transportation doors.

Update 6-17-08

Those interested (both youth and adults) in attending the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Game on Sunday, July 27, 2008, (The Milwaukee Brewers versus The Houston Astros) are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, due to the probability of this game being sold out, by visiting http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com. Transportation for the game will be provided.  Upon arrival to the Conference please make sure to register at the "Brewers" booth if transportation is needed.  Buses depart at 11:30am from North 4th Street at West Wells Street (Midwest Airline Center). In addition, on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. all female YLP attendees are invited to attend the Women’s Graduate Breakfast. Interested female YLP attendees should email Chief Lisa Walter at [email protected] with your interest.

2.  We are planning on bringing our children.  Which hotel is “kid friendly?”

The Hilton-Milwaukee City Center has a water park.  See their website for further details at http://www.hiltonmilwaukee.com. Be sure to ask for the special FBINAA Paradise Landing Water Park rate of $10.00 / person / day!  It is open on Friday, July 25th from 3:00pm – 10:00pm; Saturday, July 26th from 9:00am – 10:00pm; and Sunday, July 27th from 9:00am – 6:00pm. It will be closed on July 28th – 31st. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

3.  Are there any promo codes needed to get the special FBINAA Conference 2008 rates for Hotel Reservations?

When you contact the hotels, ask for the "FBINAA Conference 2008" rate and give them the dates you are requesting.  They will pull up the special rates from that.  The FBINAA rate is $159 single/double, per room, per night, plus tax.  Reservations must be made before June 25, 2008.  Both hotels have ramp parking ($10-$15 per/day) and are connected by walkway to the conference center.  You can find contact information for the hotels at http://www.fbinaa2008.com.  On the left, click on Hotels. 

4.  We are driving our RV to the conference.  Where should we park?

The Wisconsin State Fair Park has RV parking.  See http://www.wistatefair.com/home/wsfp/PARK_FACITIES/rv_park.htm for more details. 

5.  I am handicapped and use an electric scooter.  Which hotel should I use and what accommodations are available? 

The Hyatt would be the best choice.  Access to the Midwest Center is wheelchair friendly.  Our transportation services will have wheelchair accommodations for airport pickup/delivery and transportation to the Conference events.  You might contact Wheelchair Getaways at www.wheelchairgetaways.com for more specific arrangements. 

6.   I am a vendor and would like to place my booth at the Conference.  Who do I contact?

 7.  I would like to be a Sponsor and run a classified ad at the Conference.  Who do I contact?

 8.   I would like to be a Presenter and speak at the Conference.  Who do I contact? 

Please see our website at http://www.fbinaa2008.com and on the left, click on Contact Information.  Submit your request.  Most speakers are already confirmed, but we will consider each new request on an individual basis. 

9.   I’d like to stay informed on all the Conference’s latest updates and information.  What is the best way to do this? 

Please watch our website at http://www.fbinaa2008.com for the latest updates and information.  You should also sign up to receive the Newsletter by submitting your email address.  On the left of the Conference home page, click on Newsletter and complete the required information.   

10.  What fees does my spouse pay?  Is she considered a ”Guest?” 

Yes, your spouse is a Guest and the registration fee is $250.  She must be a credentialed guest to attend the Conference or any of the events. 

11.  Do you have special rates arranged with any of the airlines? 

FBINAA benefits do not include airlines.

12.  What is the cost to attend the Conference? 

Member Delegate / Criminal Justice Guest fees are $400 each and $450 after 5/24/08.  Spouses and Guests (18 years and older) fees are $250 and $350 after 5/24/08.  Children (Ages 6 and up) / Youth (under 18) fees are $125 and $225 after 5/24/08. 

13.  We plan to ride our motorcycles to the Conference.  What types of secured parking do you have arranged for the cycles and the trailers?

Special arrangements have been made for secure parking of motorcycles and trailers at the Midwest Airlines Center.  Since space is limited at the Center, parking arrangements for your power units or trucks will be at your Hotel.  Any questions can be handled at the Information Booth at the Midwest Airlines Center at the time of your arrival.   

14.  I want to be sure to register early to attend the Training Sessions.  How do I do this? 

Training will consist of plenary and break out sessions on Monday and Tuesday.  Attendance is self-directed without a need for pre-registration.  It is anticipated that all sessions will have adequate seating for all attendees. 

15.  Are there additional benefits for FBINAA members attending the Conference? 

FBINAA members have hotel discounts for other hotels besides the special Conference 2008 rates at the Hilton or Hyatt.  You also can obtain Hertz Rental Car discounts.  Please see the Members Only tab at www.fbinaa.org for a list of benefits.         

16. What’s there to do in Milwaukee?

Outside the hotels and convention center there are world-class restaurants, exciting arts and entertainment options, hundreds of shops, restaurants, cafes, the Shops of Grand Avenue mall, museums, theaters, performing arts, and diverse attractions, many within walking distance.  Please visit http://www.visitmilwaukee.org for more specific information.  A map of the immediate area surrounding the convention center can be found at http://www.northwoodmap.com/MilwCenter.html

17.  I need a printable registration application to submit to our finance department so they can pay the Conference fees.  I can’t print it from the website.

Please call our FBINAA Conference 2008 Registration Desk at 1-800-799-4113.  They will complete your application over the phone.  At that point, they can print a copy of the Registration for you and mail or email it to you.  When registering by phone, payment can be by credit card or check.  If payment is made by check, include the printed registration form with the check.  The mailing address is on the printable form.  When they receive your printed copy and check, you will receive an email confirmation.  When registering by phone, and to save time, please be prepared to answer the following questions: Delegate/Guest/Child/Youth contact information, shirt sizes, event attendance, special needs, airport/Amtrak transportation, and optional Conference activities. 

18.  I am either flying into Chicago or planning on using Amtrak to travel to the Conference.  Do you have information on this?

Flying into Chicago? Why not take Amtrak into Milwaukee?

There is a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) route that connects O'Hare Airport with the downtown Chicago area. This route takes people to within about 2 blocks of Union Station where Amtrak is located. Anyone flying into O'Hare would need to take the CTA and then walk the 2 blocks to Union Station or take a taxi from O'Hare to Union Station to use the Hiawatha service. The Hiawatha service has 7 round trips daily/ 6 on Sundays between Chicago and Milwaukee. The Hiawatha service terminates at the Milwaukee Intermodal Station in Milwaukee, which is just a few block from the Midwest Center and the hotels.

19.  Is the Conference open to Wisconsin Law Enforcement officers even if they are not members of the NA?

The Exhibit Hall is open to Wisconsin LE officers on Sunday and Monday, 7/27-7/28th. You will have to show credentials to be admitted. Dress would be business casual. On Sunday, admission allows you entrance to the vendors (open 10:00-16:00) and the FBINAA Store (open 7:00-17:00). On Monday, admission includes the exhibits (open 7:00-16:30), Opening Ceremonies (7:30-9:30), and the FBINAA Store (open 8:00-17:00). Your attendance is welcome!

21.  We need a certificate of attendance for the training sessions. Will one be provided?

Yes. If you are a registered delegate and attend the Conference, you will be provided with a certificate of attendance.

22.  How do we sign up for tours to Miller and Harley-Davidson?

 
Transportation will be provided for these free tours.  Buses will depart and drop off at Midwest Airlines Center transportation doors.  Sign up for times will be at the tour information booth located near conference registration, and is on a first come, first served, basis.  Tours have limited capacity.

23.  Arriving at General Mitchell Field?

Guests arriving at Mitchell Field will be greeted in the main terminal area adjacent to the various concourses. You will be directed to the baggage claim areas to recover your luggage to meet our transportation volunteers stationed near baggage claim #3. From there you will be directed to the proper shuttles for your short ride to the conference hotels. If you have any questions or issues when you arrive, please contact our command post at 414-908-5100. Our command post is open until midnight throughout the conference. Have a safe and pleasant trip. We’ll see you in Milwaukee!
